Tour Guides

Have a passion for history? So do we! Melrose on the Cane is seeking motivated individuals to work alongside our already stellar tour guide roster. This position is a part-time opportunity with significant flexibility in scheduling. Tour guides are responsible for conducting guided tours here at Melrose and bringing the rich history of our property to life.

Tasks include:

  • Conducting guided tours at Melrose on the Cane

  • Greeting guests in a professional and courteous manner

  • Conducting sales in our Gift Shop

  • Restocking items in our Gift Shop

  • Being an ambassador for local culture and history

  • Light cleaning duties around the property

  • Assistance with Melrose on the Cane events and large tour groups as needed

Melrose on the Cane

The historic Melrose Plantation is operated by the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches (APHN). Founded in 1941, the APHN is a volunteer organization, also currently operating downtown Natchitoches' Lemee House. Guided tours of Melrose Plantation are available Thursday through Sunday, from 10a - 5p (Closed on Mondays).
